LANDOWNER MEETING: June 17 (VIRTUAL + PHONE)

If you haven’t heard, Summit Carbon Solutions has once again adjusted the scope of the project – dropping four ethanol plants and approximately 200 miles of route for the time being. This victory would not have happened without the relentless work of impacted landowners like you. Thank you for holding strong and working to protect our state from unwanted, risky carbon pipelines and the abuse of eminent domain.

But, the fight is far from over. Summit has implied those ethanol plants could connect to its pipeline on a future expansion, meaning it’s more important than ever to stay vigilant. If one foot of Summit’s pipeline gets built in Iowa, it won’t stop there. A foothold is all they need to turn our state into a web of dangerous carbon pipelines. We have come too far to let that happen now.

Summit’s proposed changes show that they are desperately trying to make its failing plans work. While publicly stating the pipeline is now intended to route through Nebraska to Wyoming for both sequestration and use in enhanced oil recovery, behind the scenes, Summit is still pursuing efforts to cross South Dakota to an end point in North Dakota.

It is more important than ever that we keep exposing Summit’s project for what it really is - a greedy scam. We hope we can continue to count on you to defend our land, our liberty, and our legacies.

Here’s what needs to happen next:

Join our virtual meeting on Wednesday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m. CT to understand what is really happening with the Summit project. We know it's hard to follow every development, so this meeting will catch you up on everything that matters.

Impacted landowners can still join the Iowa Easement Team legal co-op with attorney Brian Jorde to share costs of legal representation as we navigate through permit applications and appeals. You can find out more about how the legal co-op works by visiting www.iaeasement.org or giving Emma a call at 712-830-3748.

Engage in the upcoming elections to ensure we have leaders ready and willing to fight for our property rights during the 2027 legislative session.

Now is our chance to get rid of lousy elected officials who refuse to represent the 80% of Iowans that oppose eminent domain for carbon pipelines.

Don’t sign an easement. This project relies on landowners signing over their rights to succeed. You have the power to keep that from happening.

Keep fighting to protect Iowa land and legacies,

Cindy Hansen, Shelby Co

Colleen Tucker, Mitchell Co

Wilmer Hulstein, Sioux Co

Patty Beyer, Cherokee Co

Sherri Webb, Shelby Co

Cindy Kruthoff, Crawford Co
